2007-06-06 pyre builder: hey, i dunno if anyone still looks here for updates, but i found this site by google, i was looking for two words which i have never seen in draconic, to translate a book, "salt" and "marsh" if anyone knows where i could find these, i would love to be e-mailed at jbrocketman@gmail.com
2007-06-07 [xido]: I moderate and maintain the page, and I'm glad to have interested viewers. It looks like there is no currently published translation for 'salt' or 'marsh' in Draconic. Perhaps for salt, begin with 'stone' and maybe make something up a little more like a mineral or spice word in Draconic. And let us know what you decide, so we can add it to the official list.

2007-06-07 pyre builder: oh, ok, probably just my computer. also, i was putting your dictionary onto a word document, to use easier (ill e-mail u a copy when im done) and noticed, arrow is called the same as "kill", the draconomicon does this too, i was wondering if you could find out what it actually is? or are they the same? 4 words i made up in order to translate a poem to draconic were:

2007-06-10 pyre builder: ok, xido, i am e-mailing you the word file, with all the words ive made so far in it, i will give you updated versions later.
2007-06-11 [xido]: I opened your document, but with the changes I have made to the page, I will simply add them in one by one. I will also hope to develop a more complete diction of terms. Also, the alphabet has 45 unique letter-sounds which can be utilized for more variety.
I welcome any list of words to get translations. Please include the part of speech when posting them.

I noticed we only have 1 in draconic! So I made an entire numbering system. Oh, and draconic hasn't bothered with non-real numbers (pi, sigma, square root, etc) because they can either figure it out in their head easily (complex things like cubed roots, etc are easy for them.) or they don't bother. (why use math to figure out the circumference of a circle when you can magically take it apart or copy it?)

2007-07-07 [xido]: Ok, now that I have it posted here to review...
I am having a very difficult time deciphering how I am supposed to utilize your numbering system, especially since I was employing a Roman-Numeral-
1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1K, 5K, 10K, 50K, 100K, 500K, 1M, 5M, 10M, 50M, 100M, 500M, 1B
I posted those icons above, as well as the symbol for decimal. I will need a shorter version of each of those 'round numbers', or at least a translation of how I supposed to say it... Also, there are still letter sounds not being utilized, such as Ch, Dj (which is the often used letter for Sj, and sounding dialectic), Kh, Kk, 'd, Sh, and quite a few vowel varieties... We need to start integrating them into words ASAP, so that it doesn't look like they were a last minute thought.
2007-07-14 pyre builder: K, thought about it a bit, and if they look similar, just change it a little, this is probably either gold or red dialect anyway, different races would warp it slightly.

2007-09-26 Ryn: If I've somehow skipped over the note for this and am asking a redundant question, then I apologize in advance. I have the Races of the Dragon book with the Draconic Language Appendix in it, so I'm going off of that and the info on this site, and so far as I can tell from the sample translations and whatnot dragons do no conjugate their verbs? Just checking to make sure that is correct or if you have any information regarding verb tenses and conjugation.

2007-10-20 pyrebuilder: not really, if you want to get more into the draconic language, i would recommend getting the draconomicon, which explains far more about how the language is used (i thought so, look over a friends' copy) it also explains a lot about culture. (helpfull for creating new words)
